Terminated Folded Dipole - Update by Bob Biggart MM0XNC

Update: It's part of our hobby that we often have to learn as we go along, so I did with this TFD installation. I made a mistake by having my hoisting cord secured to the Cleat on the fixed posts. When the wind started blowing the hoist cord acted as a guy line to the flexing pole and eventually snapped bringing the center part of the antenna crashing down. Fortunately no damage was done. As the mast can be lowered pretty easily, I just secured the center of the antenna to the mast top fixture without the hoisting line. The GRP Handrail mast is holding up well and easily handling up to 30kt plus wind gusts so far. Otherwise, this TFD is performing really quite well and has me reliably back up on 40/80m.
